ADXC 5: Pouya Rahmani and Hamdy Abdelwahab grapple in a Main Card heavyweight bout

July 10, 2024

With less than a month to go until the next edition of the Abu Dhabi Extreme Championship, which takes place on August 2nd, the organization has been steadily unveiling the names that will make up its next tournament. This time around, the ADXC 5 brings a Grappling duel between heavyweights Pouya Rahmani and Hamdy Abdelwahab to its Main Card.

Ready to conquer another high-profile victory for his resumé, Pouya Rahmani is back to the ADXC. An MMA and grappling competitor, Pouya made a name for himself in the ADXC 2 last January, as he completely dominated Denzel Freeman in a match that highlighted just how strong and technical the Iranian athlete can be. Up against a new foe, Pouya will once again put his wrestling takedowns to work as he seeks to become a champion in the UAE.

Across the battlefield, Hamdy Abdelwahab is ready to make his debut at the ADXC. An MMA competitor out of Egypt, Hamdy showed why he's known as "The Hammer" by knocking out every single opponent he's faced as a professional mixed martial artist. Ready to show he can grapple just as well as he can strike, Hamdy will need to use all of the experience he accrued fighting in MMA cages to become an ADXC champion at the organization's birthplace.

The ADXC 5 is set to take place on August 2nd and will be broadcast live on the TX7.com platform. In addition to the match between Pouya Rahmani and Hamdy Abdelwahab, the event will also feature Urijah Faber vs Bibiano Fernandes in the Grappling Main Event and Rayron Gracie vs Marcos Carrozzino in the Jiu-Jitsu Main Event.
