ADGS Moscow 2024: Athletes from over 30 countries have already saved their spots in the tournament

August 23, 2024

Not long to go before the next chapter of the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam World Tour. Set to visit the Russian capital from August 30th to September 1st, the ADGS Moscow 2024 has its doors open for colored and black belts of all ages as it lands at the Sports Academy Dinamo for three days of competition, with Amateurs fighting in the first day, Youths and Masters on the second, and Professional closing the tournament at the third and final day.

Reflecting the AJP's mission of spreading Jiu-Jitsu and its benefits throughout the world, the roster of the ADGS Moscow 2024 paints an incredibly diverse picture for the sport as it brings athletes from over 30 nationalities to the event's mats. With many representatives from countries such as Russia, Brazil, Argentina, Portugal, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan, the turnout shows a great interest in the championship at an international level, especially as the tournament draws nearer.

And of course, the United Arab Emirates wouldn't just sit this one out. Representing the birthplace of the AJP, Emirati fighters such as Khaled Al Shehhi, Omar Al Suwaidi, and Saeed Al Kubaisi are ready to show their skills at the highest level of competition, flying the UAE National Jiu-Jitsu Team banner as they tackle some of the most talented athletes in the international scene while pursuing the title in their respective weight divisions.

"The Abu Dhabi Grand Slam is not just a competition", says ADXC champion Omar Al Suwaidi, an Emirati black belt who got the gold in Moscow back in 2021 as a purple belt. "It is a platform to learn from the best players and coaches. It'll allow me to interact with competition at the highest level while also letting me build valuable relations with the global Jiu-Jitsu community, helping enhance my skills and develop my career."
