ADXC 6: Organizers talk about the tournament and unveil the complete card of the competition
October 23, 2024
Set to take place this Friday, October 25th, the ADXC 6 is almost here, ready to bring another batch of memorable duels as it returns to the Mubadala Arena, in the UAE. But while the show is still a couple of days away, the tournament's main organizers and competitors sat down for a press conference this Wednesday, October 23rd.
The press conference comes as a part of the ADXC fight week, a series of attractions that work as a warm-up before the competition begins. Leading the conference, the IVSM General Manager Mr. Tareq Al Bahri started by praising the generous patronage and wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, and His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, highlighting that their support has established Abu Dhabi as the global capital of sports. About the ADXC, Mr. Al Bahri explained that the championship is characterized by innovative fights that represent the UAE's vision of promoting martial arts at the global level in a unique way, adding that the growing interest in this type of sport at the international level is a strong incentive for the success of the championship through its six editions.
In addition to Mr. Al Bahri, the press conference featured Mohammed Al Hosani, the official fight organizer for the Abu Dhabi Extreme Championship and a member of the organizing committee. Mr. Al Hosani talked about the week prior to the ADXC's, which saw a lot of changes and surprises between players competing to save a spot in the ADXC 6 roster and the organizing committee compensating injured athletes and those who wouldn’t be able to take part in the event due to an emergency. Mr. Al Hosani believes that this highlights the strength of the organizing team in finding solutions and making the ADXC 6 a success as planned, noting that the next edition of the tournament will be held in Brazil next November.
This being an ADXC press conference, the main stars of the show also had time to open up about the road leading to the ADXC 6. With the attending athletes expressing their happiness to be back fighting in the organization, the Jiu-Jitsu Main Event leads Jansen Gomes and Uanderson Ferreira had a brief exchange that gave us a glimpse into what we can expect come Friday. A champion in the third edition of the tournament, which took place in Brazil, Jansen Gomes was confident in the conference and said he’s ready to show his skills in the upcoming match. Meanwhile, the AJP powerhouse Uanderson Ferreira revealed that he’s had a great camp and that they’ll both be fighting for submission inside a cage, meaning there will be nowhere to run.
For the joy of fight fans all over the world, the organization also revealed the complete fight card for the ADXC 6. With 15 duels and 10 countries represented in the line-up, the card is officially the biggest in the ADXC’s history and comes as proof of the tournament’s growth since its first edition one year ago.
