ADGP Vienna 2025: Check out which grapplers took the Professional gold in Austria

Making its way to Austria after an explosive debut event in Russia last April, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Grappling World Tour Vienna took over the SW Arminen on Sunday, May 25th, bringing another action-packed tournament for fight fans worldwide. With a rule set that focuses on aggressiveness and 2000 global ranking points for each champion, the competition was filled with memorable battles as each athlete sought to reach the top of the podium and confirm the dominance of their skills.

Highlighting the tournament, the Professional category once again stole the spotlight as their warriors showcased their techniques and grit, giving the world another glimpse into what it takes to compete at the highest level in the sport. MEN

65kg - Andrii Chernitskyi vs Adam Beczkowski

Fighting out of Ukraine, Andrii Chernitskyi had three tough duels on his way to the title and took his first win via split decision against Sergio Dominguez after an incredibly balanced duel. After advancing and beating Lucas Feitosa via unanimous decision, it was time for Andrii to face Adam Beczkowski in the final, with the former using every tool at his disposal to control the match in all three rounds to take the gold with another unanimous decision.

75kg - Jose Espinosa vs Nico Pulvermuller

Submitting three out of his four opponents, the Costa Rica representative Jose Espinosa dominated the 75kg division. Starting his campaign with a heel hook on Tom Maenurm and a lighting-fast d'arce choke on Shahrukh Khan, Jose made his way into the semifinal and put on another decisive display, not landing the sub but still fighting well enough to convince all the judges and taking the win via decision. For his final match against Nico Pulvermuller, however, Jose decided to go all-out and started attacking from the start of the match, quickly making his way to the legs and ending the bout with a tight ankle lock.

85kg - Pawel Jaworski vs Marek Hromadka

In the 85kg division, the Polish Pawel Jaworski mixed strategy and technique to come out with the coveted gold medal. With three wins via unanimous decision, Pawel showcased his prowess as he visibly overcame every opponent on his way to the final match, in which he went up against his Academia Gorila teammate Marek Hromadka. Despite coming from the same background, the difference in skills left no room for doubt as Pawel controlled the duel in all three rounds, convincing all the judges and taking the top spot on the podium with another victory via decision.

95kg - Samuel Karas vs Nikita Berkovic

Hailing from Slovakia, Samuel Karas became the 95kg division champion after three great duels in the bracket. After locking a rear-naked choke on Teodor Stan and defeating Caio Mendonça via unanimous decision in the semifinal, Samuel saved his spot in the gold round and cemented another title match between Academia Gorila teammates as he prepared to face Nikita Berkovic. The match was a close one, with both sides unleashing their games to try and one-up each other until the end of the bout, but Samuel was the most effective and the judges unanimously voted for him once again.

125kg - Alexander Sak vs Armin Douzali

Coming in hot from a golden run in the ADGS Abu Dhabi last week, the German Alexander Sak added another title to his resumé in the ADGP Vienna. Joining the 125kg division, Alexander started off by locking a tight kimura on Nikodem Kowal and then advanced to the semifinal, in which he passed by Eldar Rafigaev by forfeit. In the final, Alexander had a tough battle against Armin Douzali, fighting tooth and nail throughout all three rounds before taking the win and the gold via unanimous decision.

WOMEN

55kg - Liisi Vaht vs Teresa Przetacka

Opening the +18 finals, the Estonian powerhouse Liisi Vaht took the 55kg title. After getting a submission win over Emme Bringeland in the quarterfinal, Liisi kept her aggression high and locked a guillotine choke on Nicole Altmann to advance to the gold round, in which she faced Teresa Przetacka. Having also submitted all her opponents up to the final, Teresa stepped up to the mats with confidence and unleashed her game, but Liisi rose to the challenge and even seized the upper hand in the incredibly balanced duel that decided the title, being unanimously voted the winner by the judges when the clock ran out.

65kg - Maria Luisa Delahaye vs Roksana Wodzynska

Coming from a great campaign in the ADGS Abu Dhabi, in which she took the silver medal, the Brazilian Maria Luisa Delahaye reached the top of the podium in the ADGP Vienna. Beating Maryia Kirova via submission and Julia Maele via unanimous decision in the 65kg division, Maria Luisa had a very cerebral final round against Roksana Wodzynska, with both sides dishing out attacks and defending well until the end of the match. With no submissions from either athlete, the result was left up to the judges, who decided that Maria Luisa was the most effective throughout the bout and gave her the win and the title unanimously.

95kg - Denise Krahn vs Julia Mikolajczak

Two matches and two submissions led the German Denise Krahn to the 95kg division title. Starting in the semifinal, Denise wasted no time and locked a merciless armbar on Viktoria Rejzek in less than one minute to advance to the final and face Julia Mikolajczak. The gold round was another crystal-clear display of dominance by Denise, who quickly went on the offensive and submitted Julia with a triangle choke around the one-minute mark to become the champion.
