ADGS Rio: The edge you need to reach the top of the ranking

June 26, 2024

Scheduled to take place in less than a month, between July 19th and 21st, the next chapter of the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam World Tour sets its sights on the tropical shores of Rio de Janeiro, bringing the UAE's signature action to the Brazilian state as competitors flock to the Arena Carioca 1 to put their skills on full display for fight fans. But while the gold and glory of becoming an AJP champion might be a driving factor for athletes, it's worth noting that the ADGS Rio has more in store for its warriors.

Welcoming athletes from the Amateur and Youth categories on the first day, Masters on the second, and Professionals on the third and final day of competition, the ADGS Rio brings one of the most important tournaments in the race for the top of the ranking, providing no less than three thousand points for each of the champions of the competition. With such a high sum on the line, on top of this being one of the main events in the final count of the global ranking, it is no wonder this edition of the Grand Slam became such a hotspot for the aces of the international scene.

In addition to familiar faces like Yuri Hendrex, Diego Sodré, Lucas Protasio, Yara Soares, and Ingridd Alves, the competition will also feature the likes of Sarah Galvão, bringing her brand-new brown belt to compete at the highest echelons of the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam, making this the perfect chance to put your skills to the ultimate test while seeking one of the most renowned titles in competitive Jiu-Jitsu.

With the registration window closing on July 16th and the remaining spots dwindling by the second, any competitors looking to make a name for themselves in Brazil have limited time to put their names next to some of the most famous athletes of the current generation.
