UAEJJF 2017/2018 season on fire with events in Brazil, the USA, Germany and Croatia

João Pessoa International Pro

The Jiu-Jitsu community in the Brazilian state of Paraiba came together on August 26-27 for two days of great matches. Hundreds of athletes competed for valuable points in the UAEJJF ranking. The event was yet another great showing of the sport's strength in the region and in the country. The event was also a great opportunity for the UAEJJF to aid the local community by donating the registration proceeds to a local social projects that helps underprivileged children. Another important note in the event was the participation of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu National Team. After all was said and done, the results in the black belt division were: 62kg – Jorge Nakamura; 69kg – Alexandre Vieira; 77kg – Endres Barbosa; 85kg – Williams Martins; 94kg – Faisal Al Ketbi; 110kg – William Martins. Brasilia International Pro

The Brazilian capital welcomed its event in the 2017/2018 season on September 17. Hundreds of athletes gathered at the Ginásio de Esportes do Cruzeiro for a full day of action. The crowd was treated to awesome matches featuring competitors of all ages, both in the male and female divisions. The results in the adult black belt division were: 62kg – Diego Diniz; 69kg – Rodrigo Cardoso; 77kg – Gabriel Pontes; 85kg – Vinicius Garcia; 94kg – Augusto Caixeta; 110kg – Denis Nascimento. Sergipe Regional Championship

The Northeastern region of Brazil is a jiu-Jitsu powerhouse. The Sergipe Regional Pro, in Aracaju, on September 9-10 was another opportunity for local athletes to showcase their talents. Hundreds of competitors left their hearts on the mats in search of the coveted points in the UAE annual ranking. The results in the black belt division were: 62kg – Claudio Fonseca; 69kg – Henrique Gomes; 77kg – Romario Teodoro; 85kg – Matheus Felix; 110kg – Rodrigo Mendes. Germany National Pro

Jiu-Jitsu is experience non-stop growth in Germany and on October 21 there was another definite show of force for the sport in the country. Hundreds of athletes gathered in the beautiful city of Frankfurt to compete for valuable points in the UAEJJF annual ranking. In the black belt division, results were: 77kg – Krzysztof Suchorabski; 85kg – Maciej Kozak; 94kg – Adam Wardzinski; 110kg – Patryk Wysoki. Croatia National Pro

Jiu-Jitsu has always been a crowd favorite in Eastern Europe. The Croatia National Pro, in Zagreb, on October 7, was another show of force for the gentle art community. Hundreds of competitors gathered at the venue for a full day of awesome matches. In the black belt division, results were: 94kg – Akos Szekeres; Open Class (77kg) – Sandor Lakatos; Open class (-110kg) – David Vojnovic In the teams competition, the final top 3 standings was: 1st – ZR Team Hungary 1360pts; 2nd – Mladost – Alliance BD 1330; 3rd - Gracie Barra Ljubjana 670pts. Split International Pro

The historic city of Split welcomed the Jiu-Jitsu crowd on August 26 for another great day of matches. The crowd was treated to high level matches throughout the day. Some of the best competitors in the continent were present. The results in the black belt division were: 94kg – Marin Matulic; Open Class (77kg) – Jonathan Brinkhaus; Open Class (110kg) – David Vojnovic. Phoenix International Pro

Three weeks after the Grand Slam Los Angeles, the Jiu-Jitsu community in America gathered once again to compete for valuable points in the UAEJJF annual ranking. The Phoenix International Pro took place October 14-15 for the pleasure of the crowd present at the venue. Hundreds of athletes from dozens of local schools squared off on the mats to see who would come out on top. In the end, the results in the black belt division were: Male 69kg – Gabriel Revoredo; 77kg – Thomas Keenan; Female 90kg – Tara White.
