ADXC 6: Everything you need to know before the tournament that will shake up the UAE

October 24, 2024

We're officially on fight week for the sixth edition of the Abu Dhabi Extreme Championship. Set to be held at the modern Mubadala Arena this Friday, October 25th, the ADXC 6 comes almost exactly a year after the tournament's debut edition, and the organization decided to kick things up a notch. Bringing an unprecedented number of main bouts, the event will be headlined by one Jiu-Jitsu Main Event and two Grappling ones, amounting to a staggering 15 duels in one night.

With all the hurdles cleared and the pieces sitting on the board as we collectively wait for the beginning of the competition, let's take a closer look at what the ADXC 6 has in store for this Friday and what fight fans can expect as they watch every second of the action live on the TX7.com platform.

MAIN EVENTS

Coming as the stars of the catchweight Grappling Main Event, Muhammad Mokaev and Rogerio Bontorin get ready to bring a lot of action to their ADXC debut. On one side, Muhammad "The Punisher" Mokaev brings the aggressiveness and mileage that helped him stay undefeated in his professional career to the ADXC cage, but on the other, the Brazilian Rogerio Bontorin joins the roster with lightning-fast submissions and ten years of experience fighting in cages to get the upper hand over his opponent.

In the Jiu-Jitsu Main Event, Jansen Gomes and Uanderson Ferreira clash in a middleweight bout. An ADXC 3 champion making his return to the organization, the Checkmat black belt Jansen Gomes brings his powerful guard passing game to seek a quick submission and another high-profile win in Abu Dhabi. However, he'll have to contend with the AJP ace Uanderson Ferreira, a Commando Group black belt known for his skills and showmanship with lots of medals earned in the organization.

Meanwhile, the lightweight Grappling Main Event brings Kairat Akhmetov and Patrick "Patchy" Mix to test their skills in the ADXC cage. Nicknamed "The Kazakh", Kairat Akhmetov is an aggressive but strategic fighter who boasts almost 15 years of experience as a professional MMA athlete, racking up an impressive record of 27 wins and only two losses. To face Kairat, the American Patchy Mix is ready to use his decade of experience fighting in some of the main organizations in MMA to enter the cage and add another victory to the 20 he already has to his name.

CO-MAIN EVENTS

Bringing a bantamweight match to the tournament, Tagir Ulanbekov and Jussier Formiga clash in the Grappling Co-Main Event. Coming from Russia to make his first participation in the ADXC, Tagir Ulanbekov is a mixed martial artist with 15 victories to his name, with over half of those coming via submission. Facing Tagir, the Brazilian Jussier Formiga taps into the experience he accrued over the course of almost 20 years as a professional MMA athlete and brings the best of his game to make his ADXC debut.

In the Jiu-Jitsu Co-Main Event, Isaque Bahiense and Bruno Lima face each other in a middleweight bout. A Brazilian black belt representing Dream Art, Isaque returns to the ADXC looking for another victory after beating his longtime rival Gustavo Batista in the tournament's first edition, ready to use his guard passing skills to seize another win in the cage. Meanwhile, Portugal's Bruno Lima is ready to take another foe down in the ADXC cage, bringing the same guard game that earned him victories both at the ADWPJJC 2023 and the ADXC 2's Jiu-Jitsu Main Event to become a champion once again in the UAE.

MAIN CARD

Before the Main and Co-Main Events, the ADXC 6 has a lot of action ready for fight fans in its Main Card. In the light heavyweight division, Jackson Sousa and Pedro Machado put their skills to the test in a Jiu-Jitsu bout. A Cantagalo Jiu-Jitsu representative with titles in the ADGS and King of Mats, Jackson Sousa is one of the most dangerous athletes in his weight class, but he'll be up against the equally troublesome Pedro Machado, an Atos Jiu-Jitsu black belt known worldwide for his grit and a well-rounded game that landed him many medals in his career.

Before that, catchweights Catriel Rodrigues and Moritz Kollensperger go toe-to-toe in a Grappling bout. With ADGS and ADWPJJC titles conquered as a black belt, Catriel Rodrigues comes to represent Team Zone 10 as he makes his ADXC debut, but Atos' Moritz Kollensperger is more than ready to use his aggressive and submission-focused game to take the win and spoil any and all of his opponent's plans.

Another Jiu-Jitsu bout coming to the Main Card is the match between Lucas Protasio and Rolando Samson in the welterweight division. A champion in both ADWPJJC and ADGS, the black belt Lucas Protasio comes to seek another high-profile win for his resumé after beating Pedro Maia in the ADXC 2, but Rolando Samson has different plans and he'll use every one of the weapons he sharpened in the Atos Jiu-Jitsu's mats to emerge victorious from the ADXC cage.

Still in the card, João Zeferino and Yan Cabral go up against each other in the ADXC by bringing a Grappling bout to the middleweight division. Dubbed "The Brazilian Samurai", João Zeferino is a former UFC and PFL competitor armed with a mean arsenal of submissions and coming from a win over Bruno Antonietta in the ADXC 3, but his opponent Yan Cabral is nothing to sneeze at either, having gone through some of the greatest organizations in professional MMA and getting 13 out his 15 wins via submission against dangerous opponents in the international scene.

Opening the Main Card, Emily Card and Ludmila Fiori face off in a featherweight Jiu-Jitsu bout. Coming from a submission victory over Yara Kakish on ADXC 2, Emily returns to the cage looking to rack up another win in the organization, but the newcomer Ludmila Fiori has other plans and will be ready to use the Jiu-Jitsu she honed competing all over the world to put an end to her opponent's winning streak.

PRELIMS CARD

Kicking off the action at ADXC 6, the Preliminary Card has five exciting matches that will set the tone for the rest of the competition. In a Grappling bout, Luccas Lira goes up against Marat Kurbanov, while Yaroslav Rymashevkii and Youness Bennouali clash in a Jiu-Jitsu bout. Riki Yoshinaga tests his skills against Valor Boyer in a Grappling bout, and Dayane Bazzoni goes toe-to-toe against Carol Brunácio in a Jiu-Jitsu bout. Last but not least, "The Crazy Cameroonian" Jaures Dea and Hamza "The Joker" Hamry open the tournament with an explosive Grappling bout.

The ADXC 6 lands at the Mubadala Arena this Friday, October 25th, with all matches broadcast live and exclusively on the TX7.com platform. Follow @adxcofficial on social media to stay up-to-date on all things ADXC, and we'll see you in Abu Dhabi!
