
Weekend Recap: AJP promotes six high-octane tournaments around the world

Things have been busy this weekend here at AJP. While the ADGS Abu Dhabi brought memorable duels to the United Arab Emirates, the organization did not slow down and brought six more competitions to countries all over the world. In addition to a National in Croatia and a Regional in Russia, competitors could also take part in Internationals in Sweden, Argentina, Switzerland, and Spain, so let's cut to the chase and take a look at the highlights from each championship.
AJP Tour Croatia National Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2025: Matteo Parolin and Pawel Kozlowski take the gold in Zagreb
Held on Saturday, May 17th, the Croatia National took over the Dom odbojke Bojan Stranić for an entire day of competition, welcoming local and foreign athletes to put their skills to the test and fight for the top of the podium in their respective weight classes.
Highlighting the tournament, the Italian black belt Matteo Parolin (Stance) left his mark in the Professional 120kg division after two memorable duels. Starting in the semifinal, Matteo faced an incredibly challenging match against the local Vedran Cugalj (Mladost BD), advancing in the bracket with a tight 6-5 score. Up against the Bosnian Ahmed Babic (Gremlin Jiu Jitsu) in the gold round, Matteo found his flow and put on a dominating display throughout the regulated time, scoring multiple times to take the win and the title with a comfortable 10-0 score.
Another highlight of the competition was the Polish black Pawel Kozlowski (Gremlin Jiu Jitsu), who went up against the Italian Christian Zecchetto (Stance) for the gold in the Professional No-Gi 77kg division. A familiar face around AJP podiums, Pawel is an experienced competitor in the organization, and that mileage shone through during the match, with Pawel scoring twice before finding his opportunity and ending the match with a submission around the one-minute mark.

AJP Tour Stockholm International Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2025: Alexander Gallorini, Fanis Manousaridis, and Alain Kouadio become champions in Sweden
Also taking place on Saturday, the Stockholm International landed at the Farstahallen in Sweden and opened its doors for colored belts from all over the world to show the results of their training and accumulate the necessary experience to take the next step in their careers.
Among the many competitors who fought for the gold, three purple belts impressed the crowd by showing off their technique and grit as they fought for the top of the podium. On the Professional side, the local Alexander Gallorini (Cantagalo Stockholm) put on a memorable performance as he faced his compatriot and teammate Peter Enbom for the 94kg division title. The duel took up almost the entirety of the regulated time, with Alexander quickly seizing the upper hand and scoring repeatedly before locking the winning submission with 30 seconds to the end of the bout.
Meanwhile, in the Master 1 category, two athletes rose to the top of the podium and earned the title of champions. First, the Greek Fanis Manousaridis (Fight Factory GR) dominated his local opponent Martin Andersson (Cantagalo Stockholm), outscoring him twice by 11-0 for the 77kg division gold. Then, in the 85kg bracket, the French Alain Kouadio (Cantagalo France) got the better of the Spaniard Francisco Ramirez (Hilti BJJ Stockholm), using his prowess to score multiple times and taking the win and the title by 6-1.

AJP Tour Comodoro Rivadavia International Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2025: Gabriela Corvalan and Natalia Atadia take the title in Argentina
On that same Saturday, the Club Huergo opened its doors for the Comodoro Rivadavia International and welcomed athletes of all ages and graduations to fight for gold and glory on the AJP mats.
Such was the case of Gabriela Corvalan (Team Brothers), a local black belt from the Professional category who put on an impressive performance and conquered the Open Heavyweight division. Facing her compatriot Amelia Chosson (Nova União International) in the final, Gabriela showed the crowd what it takes to compete among the elite of Jiu-Jitsu and settled for nothing less than a complete victory, locking a winning submission to become the champion.
Another heavy hitter who rose to prominence in the competition was the black belt Natalia Atadia, who overcame Amelia Chosson to take the gold in the No-Gi 55kg division. A talented competitor in her own right, Amelia stepped up to the mats ready to put on a show, but Natalia was prepared for a war and that difference counted early on in the match, with the latter quickly overwhelming and submitting the former with less than 30 seconds on the clock to take her rightful place atop the podium.

AJP Tour Bern International Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2025: Aymeric Marot becomes a double champion in Switzerland
Still on Saturday, the Bern International was yet another hub of competition available for athletes of the international scene, with the competition held at the Sporthalle Wankdorf and welcoming colored and black belts of all ages to fight for the glory of becoming a champion in the AJP.
Cue Aymeric Marot, a French black belt representing the Icon Jiu-Jitsu Team International who entered the Master 1 category and dominated the 85kg division to take the coveted double gold. Facing the local Jim Baumgartner (BJJ Swiss Academy) for the title, Aymeric unleashed his Jiu-Jitsu and made his advantage clear for the crowd and the referees, scoring multiple times while giving his opponent almost no chance to do the same. At the end of it all, a 6-1 score gave Aymeric the win and his first title that day.
Still aching for more, Aymeric returned to the battlefield aiming for the No-Gi 85kg division, only to run into Jim Baumgartner once again. Despite now being familiar with his opponent's game, Jim was simply unable to keep up with Aymeric's onslaught as the French powerhouse opened a large advantage on the scoreboard, showcasing his dominance to put the fight at 9-0. As if that wasn't enough, Aymeric saw his chance and went in for the kill, locking a winning submission in the latter half of the bout to cement his second trip to the top of the podium.

AJP Tour Sevilla International Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2025: Emily Eyles and Jose Rafael Santos take the Professional gold in Spain
On Sunday, May 18th, the Sevilla International landed at the Pavilion Municipal Francisco Domínguez for another explosive competition, drawing competitors of all ages and levels of experience to test themselves against people from all corners of the world.
Among the many people who became champions at the tournament, two Professionals stole the spotlight with great performances to rule over their respective weight classes. Starting in the gi, the Canadian brown belt Emily Eyles (Nine Nine) entered the 70kg division and faced the Portuguese Aliah Silva (Brazilian Power Team International) in a true war for the title. With no submissions from either side, the duel took up the entirety of the regulated time and saw the athletes locked in a stalemate from beginning to end, with Emily being more effective in the eyes of the referees and taking the win via decision.
On the No-Gi side, the Spaniard Jose Rafael Santos (Gracie Barra) showcased his technical prowess as he defeated the Brazilian Mateus Oliveira (Albufeira Fight Team) for the 77kg title. Once again with no submissions, the duel was marked by relentless attacks from both athletes, with the aggression increasing alongside the scoreboard until the end of the bout. When the clock ran out, a 10-6 score gave Jose Rafael the win and the top spot on the podium.

AJP Tour Volga Regional Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2025: Gennady Abrashitov and Ekaterina Veryatina conquer the double gold in Russia
Also on Sunday, the “Orion” Sport Center in Ulyanovsk received the Volga Regional for an entire afternoon of competition, with talented athletes of all ages stepping up to the battlefield and fighting for the chance to seize the title in an internationally recognized organization.
Highlighting the tournament, two local Professional purple belts went above and beyond in their campaigns and became double champions in their homeland. On the men's side, Gennady Abrashitov (Checkmat International) had his dominance on full display from the get-go as he landed a whopping 16-0 score against his compatriot and teammate Stanislav Nenyukov for the 120kg title. Later on, he entered the No-Gi 120kg division and kicked off the bracket by overcoming Stanislav Nenyukov once again, this time via submission. For his final match, Gennady completely took down another teammate, landing an 11-0 score to defeat Gleb Lopatin and secure his double gold.
On the women's side, Ekaterina Veryatina (187 BJJ Team) entered the 95kg division and went up against Belarus' Anastasiya Semiankevich (Brasa CTA) for the gold, scoring 4-0 before ultimately submitting her opponent to make her way to the top of the podium. Later, Ekaterina joined the No-Gi 95kg division and once again found Anastasiya Semiankevich standing between herself and the title. More familiar with her opponent's game, Anastasiya managed to avoid the dangerous submission attacks, but Ekaterina still had the upper hand throughout the duel and conquered her second trip to the top of the podium with a comfortable 10-0 score.
