ADXC 2: The highlights of the Press Conference
January 17, 2024
Day to get to know a little more about the ADXC 2 athletes, an event that takes place on January 19th, in Abu Dhabi. This Wednesday, the 17th, the organization brought its Press Conference, with the main athletes of the card that has 14 fights. The event was presented at the Mubadala Arena, which will be the stage for the cage with the fights next Friday.
During the Press Conference presentation, the event's matchmaker, Mohammed Al Housani, revealed details of the next ADXC, which will be held in Brazil, on March 2nd. Afterwards, the microphone was opened for questions from the press and the athletes spoke about the experience of being in the UAE to fight at ADXC.
Among the stars of the Grappling Main Event, the first to speak was Aljamain Sterling, detailing what we can expect from his fight against Chase Hooper:
"I'm super excited to fight in Abu Dhabi. Chase is a tough dude, and I'm looking forward to entertaining the crowd. My style is more focused in MMA, to stay on top and eventually take the back. I'm ready to make some fun exchanges and challenge myself."
For Hooper, the Abu Dhabi experience for fighters has like entertaining from the moment he arrived, giving props to the organization that took care of every single detail since he came to the country:
" It's feeling like a UFC fight week here, with all the ambiance related, the Oepn Workouts, Press Conference, Meet & Greet. I'm for a small gym, but here in Abu Dhabi, I'm excited to be back in action this Friday night. This is not sport Jiu-Jitsu, we're fighting in a cage and different ruleset and I'm ready to put on a show."
For the Jiu-Jitsu Main event, Bruno Lima and Manuel Ribamar showed, in a very respectful way, that their rivalry is there and they're ready to give it all in the ADXC cage. For Bruno, as he's not one of the more recognized players of the card, he's coming to put his Portugal flag on the Jiu-Jitsu international scene, and ADXC is the right place for it:
"I'm not the most famous player, but I'm here to prove my Jiu-Jitsu. Takes two to dance, but I'm here wanting to fight. At this ruleset, we looking to showcase our style, it's not about staling and looking for points. I've fought MMA in the past, it's bad to have your head stuck in the cage, so it's wise to mind the cagework and I'm ready for it."
For Manuel Ribamar, reaching the big leagues at ADXC is a dream coming true. He gave a message to the young fighters and made a wholesome invite to Bruno after the fight:
"I'm the proof that any kid from social projects can reach the top. To all of you, stay focused because the sun is ready to shine for anyone. For the fight, I'm confident in all places. Ready to pass, sweep, and exchange takedowns. After this match, I'm gonna invite Bruno for a seminar in my academy."
With all said, get ready for the actions coming your way with the ADXC 2. This Thursday, January 18th, the athletes will face the first duel of the week, battling with the scale before setting their matches at the official weigh-ins. And, after that, on January 19th, it's time to meet the new winners in the challenging cage of the ADXC 2, live from Abu Dhabi streamed via TX7.ae Don't miss it!
