ADGS Moscow 2025: Professionals turn up the heat and become champions on the third day of the tournament

After three intense days of competition in the Sport Academy Dinamo, the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam World Tour Moscow 2025 is officially concluded. With athletes of all ages and graduations putting their skills and training on the line to fight for the ADGS gold medal, the event opened with Youths and Amateurs on its first day, Youths and Masters on its second day, and now it brought the action to a crescendo this Sunday, August 31st, with the aces from the Professional category rising up to the mats and clashing against each other to attain the title of champion.

Highlighting the event, the black belts that make up the “Elite of Jiu-Jitsu” completely stole the spotlight as they battled in their respective weight classes. Check how each of the Professional Black Belt brackets went down, and relive the action on the TX7.com platform.

MEN

56kg - Bruno Borges vs Gevorg Arutyunyan

Bruno Borges added another accolade to his impressive resumé this weekend at the ADGS Moscow. Fighting in the 56kg bracket, Bruno started off strong in his semifinal against Jeison Mora, putting the scoreboard at 11-2 before locking a submission in the latter half of the match. In the gold round, Bruno went up against Gevorg Arutyunyan, who managed to hold out a little better but was still unable to pump the brakes on the Brazilian’s attacks as he took the back and almost locked a rear-naked choke. At the end of it all, a 7-0 score gave Bruno the win and the title

62kg - Felipe Fernandes vs Felipe Ferreira

Representing Commando Group, Felipe Fernandes fought two solid matches and conquered the 62kg title. Starting against Welison Fernandes, one of the top seeds in the bracket, Felipe went against all odds and put the pedal to the metal to lock a winning submission still in the first minute of the bout. As if that wasn’t enough proof of his prowess, he entered the final to face Felipe Ferreira and had another show ready, not quite landing the sub but still taking a large lead on the scoreboard and ending his campaign with a 10-2 score.

69kg - Christian Lara vs Vladislav Safonov

The 69kg division gold medal went to Christian Lara, who overcame three opponents on his way to the title. After outscoring Giorgi Razmadze by 5-1 in the quarters, Christian advanced to face Sergey Goncharenko in his next match, almost completely dominating his opponent and scoring 13 points before submitting around the three-minute mark. For his final match, Christian had his toughest challenge in Vladislav Safonov, who single-handedly got Dzhimsher Razmadze and Kevin Gabriel out of the race for the gold. As expected, the duel was a tough one, and the athletes were evenly matched until the end, with Christian gaining a narrow advantage and winning by a score of 3-2 to become the champion.

77kg - Jefferson Goteu vs Jhonathan Souza

One of the top seeds in the 77kg division, Jefferson Goteu confirmed his favoritism and became the champion after three battles. Beating Mikhail Vasilenko and Gaziev Gazimagomed via points, the Brazilian athlete made his way into the final to face Jhonathan Souza, who kicked off his campaign in the bracket with a submission win over Thiago Marques. In the final match, however, Goteu was the driving force the entire time, using his technical prowess to take the lead on the scoreboard by 5-0 and then locking a choke from the crucifix position around the three-minute mark to rule over the division yet again.

85kg - Mikael Rhaillander vs Pablo Custodia

With two out of his three wins coming by way of submission, Mikael Rhaillander brought a lot of action on his way to becoming the 85kg division champion. After getting the three taps from Marat Gafurov in less than a minute and then beating Ali Magomedov by 5-2 in the semifinal, Mikael entered the gold round ready to leave his mark in the competition, and that’s exactly what he did. Facing Pablo Custodia for the title, Mikael imposed his game from the get-go, finding his way to the back, breaching his opponent’s defense, and locking a merciless choke with a little over one minute on the clock, taking the victory and the top spot on the podium.

94kg - Tamerlan Eslemesov vs Clemer Canario

Representing Top Team Fight Club in his homeland, Tamerlan Eslemesov overcame all opponents and got the 94kg division title. With his first win coming via submission against Anderson Diniz, Tamerlan entered a very tough battle in the semifinal and managed to defeat Daniel Soares with a narrow 2-1 score before setting out to compete in the final against Clemer Canario, who was coming from a victory over local powerhouse Vladimir Blium. Saving his best for last, Tamerlan went at Clemer like a freight train, completely overpowering his opponent and taking his back before locking a tight choke to take the gold medal.

120kg - Viacheslav Ilin vs Mahir Zuka

Viacheslav Ilin got the title in the 120kg division after a very tough battle. Outscoring Gamid Khiyasov in the semifinal by 7-0,Viacheslav went up against Mahir Zuka in an incredibly balanced duel, with solid attacks and defenses by both sides resulting in a tied score at the end of the regulated time. Having landed the last point in the 2-2 tie, Viacheslav became the winner and cemented his reign over the heaviest division.

WOMEN

49kg - Diana Teixeira vs Oxana Moskalenko

Diana Teixeira takes the 49kg title yet again. Facing Oxana Moskalenko in a best-of-three bracket, Diana wasted no time in imposing her game and got her first win by landing a single-leg takedown, passing the guard, and locking a tight armbar. Wiser to the danger of her opponent, Oxana didn’t leave as many gaps in her defenses, but Diana still managed to score 5-0 and rose to the top of the podium.

55kg - Gabriela Pereira vs Evellyn Azevedo

With two submission wins, Gabriela Pereira dominated the 55kg division in the ADGS Moscow. After defeating Dana Bratkova in the semis, Gabriela ended up facing Evellyn Azevedo for the title, with Evellyn also coming from a sub from her side of the bracket. The duel started off with no big difference in technique as both talented athletes seemed evenly matched as during the first minute of the bout, but Gabriela changed the whole scenario very quickly with a triangle, shifting to an armbar from the triangle and getting the three taps around the two-minute mark.

62kg - Polina Titarenko vs Lina Grosset

Overcoming one of the top seeds in the bracket, Polina Titarenko got the better of Lina Grosset and became the 62kg division champion. Before going up against the French powerhouse, Polina showed her fighting chops as she locked a submission on Tatiana Smirnova during the first minute of the semifinal. Then, in the final, Polina saw herself get overtaken on the scoreboard as the experienced Lina took the lead and used her skills to control the movements of her opponent, but Polina saw her chance in the last minute of the bout and didn’t think twice, launching a deadly armbar and submitting Lina to take the title.

70kg - Rafaela Bertolot vs Alsu Yanshina

Two fights and two wins for the Baniyas Jiu-Jitsu Club representative Rafaela Bertolot in the 70kg division. After locking a late submission on Aleksandra Plemiashova in the semifinal, Rafaela entered the last match to face Alsu Yanshina, a local athlete who made her way into the final after beating Anna Remneva on her side of the bracket. Despite not getting the sub on the second time around, Rafaela was still very much in control during the gold round, taking the lead on the scoreboard and controlling the movement to end the bout in a 7-0 score.

95kg - Yara Nascimento vs Ekaterina Veryatina

One of the toughest and most decorated athletes in the weight class, Yara Nascimento did it again and conquered the 95kg division. Entering a round-robin for the title, Yara fought in the first round and got a resounding victory over Angelina Leonidova, using her pressure to impose her game and end the bout in a 13-0 score. Then, in the final match, Yara went for an encore as she faced Ekaterina Veryatina, taking the lead early, piling up her points throughout the first minutes, and then ending matters with a bow-and-arrow choke to become a champion in Russia.
