The most competitive division among them, Master 1, had great prominence this Saturday, May 11th. Check out the emotions of the finals in the lines below and don't miss the action with the sport's elite this Sunday, the 12th, with ADGS Abu Dhabi Professional, live on TX7.ae.

MEN'S GI / BLACK

56kg - Cassio Silva vs Gevorg Arutyunyan

In an exciting three-man bracket Cassio Silva got the gold, winning two matches. First, he got 7-5 against Gevorg Arutyunyan, to beat Marko Oikarainen right next, by 3-0. With Gevorg submitting Marko in the first match of the bracket, Geovorg got the silver to compose the podium.

62kg - Isaac Silva vs Valmecir Junior

Isaac was the name of the 62kg division. After winning two matches, he came to the final to face Valmecir Junior. With two sweeps, Isaac got the 4-0 score to secure the gold.

69kg - Thiago Marques vs Thiago Macedo

One more match between those two powerhouses of the lightweight division. Marques and Macedo once again met in the finals, with Macedo being the first to pull guard. Marques also went down, working on the inverted guard, but suddenly he shot for the triangle, getting Macedo by surprise. With the right adjustment, Marques got the submission and earned the well-deserved gold medal.

77kg - Talison Costa vs Andre Cantanhede

Once again Talison Costa got in an AJP final. Facing Andre, his opponent in recent ADGS Tokyo, Talison came with the pace for the match, attacking in the leglock and earning points by sweeping and controlling the opponent on the ground. With 4-1 at the scoreboard, Talison got another gold for his record.

85kg - Anderson Lima vs Ives Sacramento

A massive count of points made Anderson Lima the winner in the middleweight division. Facing Ives Sacramento, Anderson started working to pass, to later open his toolbox and deliver everything he got toward the win. With takedowns, backtake, mount, and submission attempts in the neck and arm, Anderson got 16-0 on the scoreboard to win the match in a good fashion.

94kg - Renato Cardoso vs Basel Fanous

Another quick win for Renato Cardoso's record. Facing Basel Fanous, Renato quickly pulled guard and waited for the right time to shoot his submission: a brutal footlock with two adjustments to precisely force Basel to tap. One more for the Brazilian based in UAE.

120kg - Felipe Bezerra vs Matheus Xavier

With good exchanges between the ultra heavies, Felipe Bezerra made the right call to get the win over Matheus. After a stand-up bout, Felipe tried to takedown diving for the foot. Matheus avoided and pulled guard, but Felipe got the near guard pass to add one point to the 1-1 scoreboard (lack of combativeness), winning by 2-1 and securing the gold medal.

WOMEN’S GI / BROWN / BLACK

49kg - Flavia Quintareli vs Tatiana Silva

With two wins over Tatiana, Flavia Quintareli secured the title at the ADGS in Abu Dhabi. After first getting Tatiana by points, Flavia got a better positioning in the second match, found the submission, and got the gold medal home.

55kg - Ariadne Oliveira vs Tamiris Vieira

With a fast work, Ariadne Oliveira took all-in against Tamiris, after pulling guard to shoot the triangle in the first minutes. Tamiris' defense was on point, avoiding Ariadne to fully choke her at first glance. Ariadne got up with the triangle first, and got with the back flat in the mats once again, this time aiming for the right adjustment to commit with the submission in the arm, submitting Tamirit with the armlock from the triangle.

62kg - Violeta Angelova vs Leyla Koziej

In a classical match between guard passer and guard player, Violeta took her best game to decipher Leyla's technical guard game. With all the bout defined by Violeta playing on top and not many sweep setups from Leyla, after a similar situation in the overtime, Violeta got the win via the judge's decision.

70kg - Marwa Alhousani vs Rima Yacoub

Challenging the odds against her, the fierce purple belt Marwa Alhousani once again got on the podium first place. Facing the black belt Rima Yacoub, and losing the first match against the experienced Jordanian, the UAE player recomposed herself, won the second match by sweeping and trying to get the back, to after, in the third match, secure the gold with a 3-1 scoreboard. Another great display of technique by Marwa in the AJP mats.

95kg - Celia Oliveira vs Victoria Blahd

Without giving any space for her opponent, Celia Oliveira made her way until the gold medal was reached against Victoria Blahd. After working on top at the half guard, Celia pushed the pace to get in the side control, from where she aimed to submit with a choke using the collar. Good display of technique on her way to the title.
