ADXC1 : Two super fights are announced to heat up the debut event in Abu Dhabi

September 23, 2023

The Abu Dhabi Extreme Championship card gets even more interesting as the days go by. After the announcement of the main fights with and without the gi, the organizers of ADXC, with the technical support of AJP, brought two more bouts to add to the already exciting day of fights, scheduled for October 20th, at the Mubadala Arena, in Abu Dhabi.

Abdul-Kareem Al-Selwady's duels against Islam Nader Reda, in a fight of no-gi welterweights; and Tayane Porfírio faces Giovanna Jara, in the gi heavyweight division, promise to bring even more excitement to fight fans eager for the ADXC debut.

By placing two MMA athletes to fight under grappling rules at ADXC, in the usual closed cage environment, we will have two lightweights fighting in the ADXC welterweight division. On one side of the cage, the "Pride of Palestine" Abdul-Kareem Al-Sewady arrives ready to fight in Abu Dhabi. With 15 victories in MMA, Abdul-Kareem is coming off an important victory in Dana White's Contender Series event, a success that earned him a contract with the UFC. On the other side of the cage, "Egyptian Zombie" Islam Reda has nine victories in his MMA record, two of which came recently at UAE Warriors, both by submission, making him ready to put the grappling work he has specialize in MMA to a good use in ADXC.

In the heavyweight gi duel, Tayane Porfírio and Giovanna Jara promise action from start to finish. Two athletes at the highest competitive level, Tayane and Giovanna have never faced each other in Jiu-Jitsu, and at ADXC they will have the chance to test their skills against each other. Tayane has recently returned to the mats, but has already won significant titles in her career, such as gold at the Abu Dhabi World Pro. Giovanna is still in her first season as a black belt and has already come far in her career. Last year, she reached the final of the ADWPJJC against Gabi Pessanha and has got overwhelming success at the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam in Miami, winning the category by submitting all her fights.

In addition to these two amazing duels, the ADXC debut card will feature 12 more fights. The No-Gi main event will see Neiman Gracie going up against Ben Henderson, while the Gi main event will stoke the fires of rivalry between Isaque Bahiense and Gustavo Batista. Last but not least, Belal Muhammad and Tarek Suleiman will go toe-to-toe in the co-main event without the gi. And there's still more to come, with other match-ups being revealed as we approach the big day.
