January 20, 2025

One of the first competitions of 2025, the AJP Tour Mongolia National Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2024 brought the organization's mats to the Wrestling Palace in Ulaanbaatar this weekend. Kicked off by the talented representatives from the Youth category on Saturday, January 18th, the tournament reached its apex on its second and last day, bringing Amateurs, Masters, and Professionals to show their skills on Sunday, January 19th.

Taking the mats at the end of the second day, the local black belts from the Professional category gave their peers and fight fans a glimpse into the level of technique needed to compete at the highest level. On the 77kg division, Davaadorj Munkhtur (Khan-Uul Jiu Jitsu Academy) went up against Erdenebaatar Ulziitogtokh (Ralph Gracie Mongolia) for the title, putting on a very strategic battle and came out on top by scoring last in a 2-2 tie. Meanwhile, in the 120kg division, Ariuntsog Baasandorj (Monde BJJ) showed his technical know-how as he overcame Ulziibayar Selemjav (Garuda Jiu Jitsu Academy) in the final.

On the women's side, a three-player bracket brought a lot of action to the battlefield. In the first round, Altai Batzul (Monde BJJ) defeated Mongoljin Ganbaatar (Garuda Jiu Jitsu Academy) by 4-1, with the latter making her way to the final after landing a decision win over Sugar Myagmar (Dornogovi Jiu Jitsu) on the following match. With a rematch set on the gold round, Altai once again seized the advantage and used her Jiu-Jitsu to control the flow of the battle, taking her second win and the title with a 3-0 score.
