AJP Tour Dornogobi Regional Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2025: Erdenebaatar Ulziitogtokh and Mongoljin Ganbaatar take the gold in Mongolia
Starting with a rare Thursday event, the Dornogobi regional took over Dornogobi Sport Palace in the city of Sainsahnd on May 8th, welcoming athletes of all ages and graduations to step up to the mats and stake their claim to the gold medal in their respective weight divisions.
Speaking of gold medals, the local Professional black belts Erdenebaatar Ulziitogtokh and Mongoljin Ganbaatar highlighted the competition with their performances, fighting tooth and nail to overcome their opponents and take the title. Starting on the men's side, Erdenebaatar Ulziitogtokh (Ralph Gracie Mongolia) made his way to the 77kg division and ended up facing his compatriot and rival Davaadorj Munkthur, who currently sits at the top of the local AJP ranking. Having faced off many times, the athletes are very familiar with each other's games and quickly locked themselves in a stalemate, but opportunity didn't take long to rear its head, and Erdenebaatar just went for it, locking a winning submission around the one-minute mark to climb the podium.
The women's side featured Mongoljin Ganbaatar (Garuda Jiu Jitsu Academy), an AJP veteran who made her way to the 62kg division and faced her compatriot Enkhmonkh Shurentsetseg (Jump Mongolia) for the title. With both sides dishing out attacks and defending all submission attempts, the duel took up the entirety of the regulated time and Golden Score, with not a single point scored, leaving the results up to the referee's decision. With more effectiveness throughout the bout, Mongoljin convinced the judge and won another gold medal for her collection.

Highlighting the event, the Brazilian black belt Bruno Borges (Abu Dhabi Police Academy) went up against the local Sarvar Rakhmonberdiyev (Uzbekistan Top Team) in a tough battle for the 62kg division title. With no successful submission attempts from either side, the match took up the entirety of the regulated time as the athletes went at each other with their sights set on the gold. When the clock ran out, a narrow 6-5 score gave Bruno the win and the top spot on the podium.

AJP Tour Erlian Regional Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2025: Davaadorj Munkhtur and Mongoljin Ganbaatar claim the title in China
Also taking place on Saturday and Sunday, the Erlian Regional was yet another option for Asian athletes to compete without spending too much on traveling and for foreigners to experience the beautiful vistas and rich culture through the eyes of Jiu-Jitsu. With the competition held at the Erenhot International Exhibition Center, colored and black belts left their hearts on the mats to become champions in their respective weight classes.
One of the major players of the tournament was the Mongolian Davaadorj Munkhtur (Khan-Uul Jiu Jitsu Academy), a Professional black belt currently sitting at the top of Mongolia's ranking who defeated his compatriot and rival Erdenebaatar Ulziitogtokh (Ralph Gracie Mongolia) for the 77kg title. Having lost to Erdenebaatar at the Dornogobi Regional a few days prior, Davaadorj made his way to the mats ready to turn the tables on his opponent and a very strategic battle ensued, with both sides looking for the smallest mistake to capitalize and end the duel. With no submissions or points from either side after the regulated time and Golden Score, the result was up to the referee's decision, who judged in favor of Davaadorj and gave him the gold medal.
Meanwhile, Mongoljin Ganbaatar (Garuda Jiu Jitsu Academy) added another title to her extensive resumé in China. Joining the No-Gi 62kg division, Mongoljin went up against the local Fei Ruan (Method MMA) in an almost one-sided battle as she scored multiple times while offering her opponent no chance to do the same. With the scoreboard sitting at a comfortable 6-0, Mongoljin saw her chance to end the duel early and didn't hesitate, launching a merciless submission attack and getting the three taps halfway through the bout.
