While the Abu Dhabi World Grappling Championship made an explosive debut in the UAE, the AJP remained steady in its mission of spreading the benefits of Jiu-Jitsu to the entire world and kept its usual weekend tournaments going, giving even more athletes the chance to hone their techniques on the competitive mats and make a living from the sport they know and love. This time around, the organization promoted a National in Malaysia and Regionals in Colombia and Paraguay, so without further ado, let's check out the highlights from each championship.

AJP Tour Malaysia National Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2025: Renan Dantas and Ho Yee Chia go all out for the gold in Selangor

Held at the Dwi Emas International School in the Malaysian state of Selangor on both days of the weekend, the Malaysia National welcomed athletes of all ages and graduations to put their skills to the test while fighting for the top of the podium and the 1000 global ranking points reserved for each of the champions.

Highlighting the competition, a duo of Professionals dialed the action up to eleven as they entered the 77kg division and fought tooth and nail for the gold medal. Starting in the gi, the Brazilian black Renan Dantas (GFTeam) entered a collision course with local brown belt Ho Yee Chia (The GC) in the 77kg final and had his skills on full display as he outmaneuvered his opponent, landed three points, and then locked the winning submission to take the title.

Then, in the No-Gi 77kg division, Ho Yee Chia got some much-needed payback as he faced Renan for the second time. The duel began much like the first one, with the Brazilian taking the initiative and scoring multiple times to put the scoreboard at 4-0. Around the two-minute mark, however, Ho Yee Chia managed to find a gap in his opponent's defense and didn't even think twice, launching a quick attack and getting the three taps to become the champion.
