
Fujairah International: Professional black belts show their skills and conquer the gold in the UAE

Held at the Zayed Sport Complex between August 22nd and 24th, the AJP Tour Fujairah International Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2025 landed in the UAE and gave competitors the chance to see the AJP's birthplace through the eyes of Jiu-Jitsu. With 600 global ranking points for each of the champions and seven fight areas spread across the venue, the event saw athletes of all ages and graduations making their way to the battlefield, aiming to showcase their technique and conquer the coveted gold medal of the organization.
On Sunday, August 24th, the competition reached its apex as the aces of the Professional Black Belt category took the stage and fought for the lead in their respective weight classes. Starting with the men, Jeison Mora (Commando Group) took the 56kg title after submitting Ahmed Ali (MOD UAE) halfway through the first minute of the final, Giovanny Nascimento (Commando Group) became the 69kg champion after using a submission to break a stalemate with the dangerous Bruno Borges (Abu Dhabi Police Academy), and Nikolas Ramos (Commando Group) outscored Francis Quinn (Al Jazira Jiu-Jitsu Club) by 6-5 to rise to the top of the podium in the 77kg division.
With Jonatham Silva (Abu Dhabi Police Academy) taking the 85kg gold from Ricardo Conceição (Al Wahda Club Jiu-Jitsu Academy) via walkover, Uanderson Ferreira (Baniyas Jiu-Jitsu Club) showed his technical know-how and landed a 6-1 over Ramon Ortega (Commando Group) in the 94kg final, and Dennis Souza (Commando Group) reigned over the 120kg division with a whopping 14-2 score against Sviatoslav Ognev (Commando Group).
Moving on to the women, Isadora Maggioni (MOD UAE) became the 62kg division champion after submitting Lara Castro (MOD UAE) and then scoring 3-1 over Leticia Wambier (Al Jazira Jiu-Jitsu Club). Jamile Lima (Al Jazira Jiu-Jitsu Club) outscored Aylla da Silva (Al Jazira Jiu-Jitsu Club) by 1-0 before scoring last in a 2-2 tie against Patricia Ferreira (Delariva Abu Dhabi) in the 70kg final match, and Marcelle Cantanhede (Al Jazira Jiu-Jitsu Club) conquered the 95kg division gold after locking a winning submission on Alevtina Korosteleva (Commando Group) around the one-minute mark of the last duel.
